Website Check
i am soooo lagged in my postings!!! I've got lots of drafts still unpublished! Drafts of what has happened the past year. Oh a lot has happened in year 2008. And it's 2009 now my golly. Grrrr. I dont know, I havent had the extra time to write on my blog or post pics. I was that busy, believe it or not. Or maybe just plain lazy hehehe. I just finished reading my past entries and it really awed me. It made me smile. This blog is 6 years old now, wowwww. i started this way back in year 2003, and now it's 2009. Super wow! Grabee reading my life 6 years ago, i realized my life has changed, but i myself havent really changed that much. I mean, when i first started this blog, i was only still a college student, ranting about school stuff like thesis, assignments, school orgs, etc.. Then forward to me being a yuppie at my first company Globe Telecom, ranting about low paychecks, overtime and workaholism. And then, fast forward to now, SAP consultant at Chevron, not anymore ranting about school or work-life nonbalance, but now ranting about... what am i ranting about now that im 26? hmmm... Oh ranting about "Is this all there is to it?". What the.. See, even though i've grown older and supposed to be more mature now, Im still the same old me, ranting and ranting just about anything i want to rant about. Oh well..
Also now on my site, i see alot of X's. Picture and smilies not coming up, links to pictures are dead (i so hate brinkster now, all my photos are gone!), tagboard is not working. I need to revamp my layout, I need to come up with a new look. I need to post updated topics. I need to save this blog!
But probably not now.. i need to sleep..hehehehe. But i will catch up with my drafts. I've got a new motto now: summer^^ is here to stay! (does that even sound a motto? hahaha).

Happy 2008!
Happy Happy new year everyone!!!!!!
Happy nga ba?!? ...OF COURSE YES! We're not allowed to be unhappy on New Year's day! We should all welcome the year with a happy spirit, happy heart, happy mind, in order for us to have a happy spirit, heart and mind all year round! Forget all the sadness, the hurts and the emptiness. Rather, welcome the year filled with energy!! Full of positive thoughts and feelings. So that in return, we will have a fuller life in 2008!
Go on, veena, convince yourself to be happy this 2008, put on a happy face for everyone. Eve though you know deep down inside you are not happy. Why would you be happy when your boyfriend is not seeing, calling or texting you for the past 1 month now?! It was only supposed to be a petty fight, but somehow it turned into a battle of pride. Who's gonna win? I f***ing dont know. I honestly dont know if we'll make it this time. Im angry, im sad, im hopeful, im disappointed, im relieved, im confused. Big confusion!
Oh wait, this is supposed to be a Happy New Year 2008 entry.. and im blabbering out-of-the topic nonsense. Ok, going back to New year... as the usual tradition, my family and I spent new year's eve at home. Turned on the lights, radio, tv everything, opened all doors/gates, put money inside our pockets, lit sparkles and fountains, blew trumpets (trumpets daw o, torotot na papel lang! hahaha), sent and read New Year text messages, cooked our signature dishes (mine is brownies), watched the countdown on the tv, and jumped when the clock stroke 12midnight! After the media noche, i counted my money to have more money this 2008. I counted millions and millions of dollars! :P
I have a big wish list this 2008, kinda similar to what was in my year 2007 list. I hope i get to do them all this year. But I'll just be happy anyway with whatever that will come my way this 2008. The Chinese said this will be a good year because 8 is a lucky number. I certainly hope so! We'll see!

Oblena 2007 Reunion
Held one day earlier than usual, my family and I all went to the annual reunion at my Tito Weng's house in Better Living, Paranaque yesterday, Dec 29. Due to this, I missed my college friend's wedding and her daughter's baptism :( (Sorry Vita!)
 Got picked to emcee the party again, and so I did! We had lots of games, big prizes, coin picking(my nails hurt!), good food, family presentations, gift-giving and the not-to-be-missed Santa Clauses! :)
Everyone had loads of fun, including the friendly dog Popoy! till next year uli! See y'all at Tito Lucas' place. Happy New Year!

Belated Merry Christmas!
As always, spent the Christmas break at my province. 5-day long vacation, yey! A good break for me, away from work, away from citylife, away from everything. A time spent with family and relatives. Fun!
Cabading ChristMask Party
 This year's theme of the reunion is a Mask-erade Party. Everyone came with a mask in hand (or on their faces as I would say;P). The party was held at Aringay, La Union, with our relatives who was back from the US hosting it. Morris and I emceed the party with my Ate being the gamemaster of the evening. With lots of games, dancing and singing, presentations, raffle prizes, food, money(!) and gifts, everyone left the party with happy faces and renewed ties. Meeting family members is always a joy! Oh, my family won again in the family presentation contest, whoohoo! Thanks to my Santa Claus script hehehe!
But then again....
Even with all the happiness surrounding me, I can still say that it wasnt as happy as i would want it to be. Something missing in my Christmas wishlist... I dont know what Im asking for, but i just hope it would get better come the New Year...oh well... #

My Teammate Passed Away :(
Learned of the news via text message. Was shocked and surprised. Apparently he died because of raptured pancreas (dont really know what it really is though).
 Paul Brandon was a very friendly and funny guy. He was an expat from New Zealand, came here to the Philippines last Sept 2006 at the start of our project Olympic 4C, together with his whole family. He was sort of the icebreaker of the team, cracking up jokes when everyone seems to be quiet and serious. Yet, he knew when to be really serious at work. He was great being the business analyst of the Pricing team, knows the business processes and not selfish of his knowledge. He patiently taught me of how fuels is sold in NZ service stations, where the prices come from, etc.. He also used to give me his Earl's potato chips and NZ chocolates. A fast talker, that sometimes i couldnt understand his NZ accent, that i just laugh with him, hehehe.
When we went to his funeral service, everyone could tell that it has been hard for his wife and 3 teenage daughters - not being at their home country and all. The service was a great way to relive Paul's cool and happy memories. His body will be flown back to NZ this week.
Whew, such a great guy! May you rest in peace there in heaven, Paul. We'll miss you!#

Mr. Monk
New TV series I'm currently watching. Started it during the long weekend last Nov 1-4, nothing to do again! hehehe. First few episodes were kinda boring, too long and Mr. Monk seems too stupid. His being OC was a little irritable. But as the season progressed, the show became much more interesting. Mr. Monk is a very good detective that has been removed from the police force because of his unique fears and habits. He's afraid of (or allergic to) germs, dirt, milk, heights, mismatches, change, and a lot more. He needs to have a nurse by his side always to give him wipes after shaking hands with people. But even with all his eccentricity and idiosyncracy, he still is a good homicide investigator, able to see evidences not normally seen by regular cops. I always like the part wherein he goes and says "Ok here's what happened...", and then recounts how the murder happened. Amazing how he solved his cases!
I also like the character of Randy, funny and smooth guy. And i also like Sharona better than Natalie :P Try watching it and see if you dont get hooked on it! Im done with Season 1 already and on to Seasons 2 and 3 :)#
