Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011
And so, year 2010 has ended. Was it Sarap 2010, as i had written on my blog post last Jan 2010?
I'd say... it's a one-of-a-kind year. Lots of ups and downs, lots of goodbyes and hellos, lots of new things and some same old same old. It's not a perfect year I tell you. But, it's not that bad either. Here's a recap of memorable things that happened on the year that has just gone by.
TRAVELS 2010 is my year for travelling!!! I cannot count how many times i went in and out of different airports this year. Domestic, regional and international flights. Asia, North America, and South America.
Starting off 2010 with my 5-day Japan trip with James, covering Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Oishikattadesu!
Followed by my 4-day Hong Kong trip, the week after, with Gian and Peter, with a one-day sidetrip to Macau. Yau Ma Tei and Tsim Tsa Tsui!
Then I had a 3-day Boracay trip with Shiela and Jerie, during my sorrowful moment :P Beach baby! Then Boracay the second time around in 2010 with family. Family bonding at its finest!
Because my passport expired, I was forced to take a hiatus for at least 3 months from travelling and skipped the Singapore and Thailand trip. This really broke my heart :(
But once passport was ok by July, airplanes here i come! With unexpected turn of events at work, I got my long-awaited dream - ~4-month US assignment! Hurray! Hello Concord, California!
With added bonus: Hola Buenos Aires, Argentina! Not only once, but twice! 16 days total :P I am so blessed it makes me teary-eyed. Muchos gracias, Lord.
But wait. There's more. Oi Rio De Janeiro, Brazil! 4 days is not enough to see Rio, but it's still 4 days!! Cant ask for anything more. Obrigada!
Within US, ofcourse I never passed up the chance to go interstate. There was the Arizona weekend getaway with Nene and Rochelle, where we saw the famous Grand Canyon, Sedona Red Rocks, Desert Botanical Garden and downtown Phoenix.
Next was the weekend at Seattle, Washington with Rochelle, with a sidetrip to Battleground, Washington to visit Bob and Joan Washa. Roch and I can make it together even without any local guides!!! :)
Thanksgiving week was New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C, and Niagara Falls, with Rochelle, Rose, Ste, Trixie and Jay. Amazing Race it was!
Oh how i truly love to travel. Cant express my excitement, my eyes light up once i hear travel opportunities. Cant say no and dont feel tired at all. I pray 2011 is a continuation year of my travel blessings. To more trips here, there and everywhere! Cheers!
LOVE What love?... Say that again?... Yeah early this year was the demise of a 6-year relationship with Tim. It just had to end. It didnt have to end that way. But it did end that way. It was a hard one, but badly needed. For sure. This year, I became single again. No boyfriend, no commitment. Just doing my own thing. And it was fun. Thank you for letting me go, thank you for the experience. Lets move on. I wish me a happier life without you.
This year - i also met a guy. Not an ordinary one. He's not young, not Pinoy and not single. We enjoyed each other's company. Way too much, i suppose. That other people started getting hurt. We started getting hurt too. It was a quick but very memorable one. Im glad to say we are still friends, but I know it wont be the same thing anymore. I wish you well in your life.
CAREER/SCHOOL I thought I was going to finish my MBA this year. Boy was i wrong. I stopped! :( It was a hard choice. First term this year - i was taking up my Strama class. A great class. Mostly MBA-JDs, but what the heck. They're masipag and get things done! Strama is the last core subject, before the OCE and graduation. Almost there at the finish line!!
But lo and behold, work opportunity abroad came up! My long awaited dream to experience work on international grounds. So, at the middle of the term, goodbye groupmates, goodbye Strama, goodbye MBA. For now. And hello Career!
I now have a new role - Downstream ERP Portfolio Office Design Architect for Sales. DEPO DA in short. A very very challenging role, but I am loving it. Just what i needed, after being at the Support DA role for more than a year already. Thank you for the opportunity! This couldnt have come at a better time. Right when Im single and can travel the world and focus on my work. Timing is everything!
MBA - i will come back for you!
PERSONAL In terms of health, family, wealth and spiritual being - nothing much had changed I must say. Still living a good life! Family is complete and healthy. Health-wise, there was this one situation though that i got hospitalized due to severe stomach ache. Doctors thought it was appendicitis and that i needed an operation. But glory be to God, it was a false alarm. Miraculuously, the ache just disappeared, hours before my scheduled operation. Thank you Lord for sparing me! This event brought me closer to God and hopefully will continue until the next year.
Happy New Year everyone!!! Cheers to more love, blessing and good health in 2011! #
